Tomorrow's Business Leader

This project was my first experience competing in front of judges and officially working with Adobe Illustrator to create a magazine that will be used in the organization’s finalists’ competition. While I did not place as highly as I hoped due to limited public speaking experience and a few design inconsistencies, the project became an invaluable learning opportunity. The judges, however, did mention the strong usage of color and imagery, which reinforced my design choices. This helped improve my presentation skills and refined my attention to design details. I now feel better equipped to deliver refined, effective work on future projects.

Technology Used

  • Adobe Illustrator: Used to create, combine and trace illustrations that suited the overall theme for the Future Business Leader of America magazine.

  •  Adobe Photoshop: Used to help enhance and increase the resolution of the images that were included in the magazine.

Program Outcomes

  • Rhetorical Knowledge: The artifact identified the intended audience to portray a specific message about achievements and growth in FBLA. The artifact was created to focus on feedback based on audience input.

  • Practices & Processes: Different layouts were tested out with a test audience to identify which would work best visually. Researched visuals and continued to refine the magazine based on audience feedback.
