BIOPHILIC DESIGN

This was my second attempt at creating a magazine, with the focus solely on design. Although I performed multiple revisions to the text, it was missing some extra information that would have strengthened the topic’s impact and made it more persuasive for the readers. Though the inconsistency here was the writing, the magazine did well in its effective use of white space, strong images, and consistent design demonstrating clear growth from my previous project. Moving forward, my focus will be on developing my writing and research skills to enhance the persuasiveness of my work.

Technology Used

  • Adobe InDesign: Used to help combine the works created from photoshop and illustrator to help organize where the texts and illustrations would be.

  •  Adobe Photoshop: Used add filtering where necessary to compliment the color theme of the magazine as well as support the message of the magazine.

  • Adobe Illustrator: Used to apply shapes to the magazine to add a modern look and feel to the magazine.

Program Outcomes

  • Rhetorical Knowledge: The artifact was created to persuade and inform the reader about Biophilic design in the workplace. Used effective design methods to help evoke a positive reaction about biophilic design.

  • Critical Thinking: Evaluated the information about the effects of biophilic design in the workplace to ensure that the audience understood the message about this type of design.

  • Analysis & Research: Researched the effects of biophilic design and incorporated the appropriate information and colors to ensure it was modern and appealing.
